The first time I met Spencer and Kevin, I knew their wedding day was going to be great fun.
We got together to discuss details way back at the start of 2014, after they’d seen a blog I’d recently written on celebrating my anniversary at the gorgeous Lainston House in Hampshire, where I’d got married myself in 2012.
It was clear from the beginning that only the best would do for the duo – and of course, I couldn’t fault their impeccable taste in venues 😉
Joining Spencer and his family as they got ready in one of Lainston’s opulent rooms, I marvelled again at the sheer size of the hotel, and it’s amenities – including a bathroom big enough for two showers, a roll-top bath and two sinks!
Unlike the torrential rain on my own wedding day, the British weather gifted Kevin and Spencer with beautiful sunny skies and they were able to conduct their touching ceremony in the outdoor wedding pavilion, accompanied by the stunning voices of 2 Shoes.
There wasn’t a dry eye in the house – but tears quickly turned to chuckles as the ringbearer made a very special entrance!
Once the official bit was over, it was huge hugs and glasses of champers all round, and a serious croquet tournament got underway as I stole the boys away to take some portrait photographs in and around the grounds.
It’s difficult to overstate the beauty of Lainston and its potential for gorgeous wedding photography – from the 16th Century chapel to the avenue of lime trees, wherever you look, inspiration abounds.
After the obligatory group shot in front of the house, it was onto dinner in the Dawley Barn, followed by a round of hilarious speeches.
Cake cutting and first dance done, I slipped away as the serious partying got underway…
and couldn’t resist a final shot of my favourite venue in the world!
‘Til next time,
