You may have heard of tapping.
You may even have tried it once or twice.
But have you ever given it consistent focus and attention? Tapped every day… even multiple times a day? Exploring tapping’s full power can prove the boost you need to upgrade your energy levels and outlook on life. And I can say this with confidence – because it’s happened for me!
A couple of years ago, I was introduced to EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) or ‘Tapping’ by the gorgeous Denise Duffield-Thomas, and since then, I’ve been a convert.
Like many of us, I frequently grapple with ‘bad’ thoughts and emotions which stop me from aligning to what I really want and enjoying life consistently.
When it comes to business and self-image, these often centre around not feeling “good enough” (on multiple levels), resisting action that I know deep down is the right thing for me to do, or general feelings of “stuckness” and inertia.
Before I began to take tapping seriously, I’d get super-frustrated with this seemingly never-ending cycle… I’d have a couple of days where I’d feel on top of the world, and then something would happen to take me crashing back down to earth and into the depths of despair and despondency again.
I used to think there was nothing I could do about those times; that I was effectively ‘trapped there’ at the bottom of the slope, waiting for some divine intervention of one kind of another to spring me loose.
But as I’ve explored using EFT and have now become a Master Practitioner in it, I’ve made the rather joyous discovery that we are in fact not helpless when it comes to that negative cycle – instead, we have the power to gently and effectively lift ourselves from the gloom and invite lightness, fun and good feelings back into our life.
So what exactly is Tapping?!
EFT or (Emotional Freedom Technique) is a simple and effective way of releasing stress, tension and trauma, and moving yourself into a positive mindset.
It’s a wonderful way to quite literally ‘tap into’ your own innate abilities to get underneath whatever is really bothering you, allow you to let it go and enable you to enjoy life. It’s all about FEELING GOOD!
EFT works by stimulating acupressure points on the face, hands and body. By tapping or holding these points, you can easily and gently release old emotions, stuckness, limiting beliefs and blocks.
How can it help me in business?
Let’s face it – running your own business can be HARD. Not only do we have to deal with servicing clients, doing admin, managing finances and marketing ourselves, but we also need to (often alone) cope with the effects of the inherent highs and lows of business on our energy system and mood.
Subsequently, we’re in need of a quick and easy way to relieve stress and bring ourselves back into alignment, enabling us to give the best of ourselves to our clients, friends and family.
Sometimes we don’t want to go through months (or even years) of intensive therapy that focuses on the past to figure out why we feel ‘bad’. Sometimes, we just want to focus on the future, letting go of anything that no longer serves us, and clearing our energy and mind for good things to come in.
In that way, Tapping is the perfect solution – it is not psychotherapy, psychology or psychiatry, but works directly with your energy body and focuses on what you and your body need right now to feel better. Therefore, it is not necessary to “dig around” in old feelings and experiences if you don’t want to – it is a totally non-intrusive, safe method of using your own hands to help your mind and energetic body heal themselves.
EFT can be used for anything and everything – that’s the joy of it! But common examples of presenting issues in the realm of business often include:

Life Beyond Zero?
I’ve chosen to train in a new modality of EFT (Energy EFT) that builds on the classic model.
Instead of aiming to reach a point of Zero – where the client is no longer triggered by their presenting issue, and feels simply ‘ok’ – Energy EFT helps practitioner and client progress beyond that point, climbing the positive scale until they both feel fantastic! In this way, we are encouraged to allow ourselves to feel happy, good, energetic, positive, excited and joyful as often as possible!
How it can help with photoshoots and being in front of the camera
99% of my photography clients are not professional models – which means many often feel a huge amount of nervousness and anxiety before, and sometimes during, a photoshoot.
Whilst I work extensively to coach all of my clients through the process of the photoshoot to minimise fears, EFT is also an incredibly quick and effective add-on to release worries as they arise ‘in the moment’.
It also allows me and my clients to synchronise ourselves before and during a photoshoot, enabling us to create and capture images that are truly aligned with that person’s purpose and soul.
